Early in the morning we get into a transparent kayak in Maremegmeg to paddle through Bacuit Bay to the beach that has been beckoning to us from the other side for a week: Papaya Beach. We sail past beautiful carved rocks and through clear blue water to the deserted beach. Except for a small house owned by a local and a sign 'Not for Sale', there is only nature here. The owner of this beach knows he has a treasure in his hands, and understands what real richness is. Beautiful. With only the rippling water breaking the silence, it is a paradise of peace and quiet here.
The sand of Papaya Beach is even whiter and finer than that of White Beach. There are many very small pieces of bright white shells and coral, no colored shells, no black or brown grains of sand, everything completely pristine white.
